Under their thumb......

This story is true. The names have been changed to protect the people in question. My husband has a friend named Peter. Peter also has a friend named Peter. We call one Peter, and the other Peter Jr. Peter is an avid hunter. He wanted to go hunting on Friday, but his " wife" god knows why they got married, told him no. Peter had to put up their Xmas lights. Now, answer me this.......why do ppl have to put up their Xmas lights the moment the Thanksgiving turkey is popped into the fridge for leftovers??????

Poor Peter, pussy whipped as he is, put up the Xmas lights, and went hunting Saturday. He's due back today. Alert the media.

Peter employs Peter Jr. So, Peter Jr. calls my husband yesterday and says, " Do you have any work for me tomorrow? My parents want me out of the house." Peter Jr. is 48, and still lives at home. what do YOU think of that?

Want a date?

I was bored during a dinner outing, so I brought along my usual newspapers....the Style section, Metro, etc. I scanned the dating Columns........Men seeking women .... just to be curious. Here's my take:

Affectionate, honest ( cough, cough) WM 59, 5'6 180 ( a little chubby, but at least he's honest)

i'm married, so i'm not looking...but i'm 5'2 and I like tall men. 5'6 is waaaaay too short. Maybe he should get elevator shoes.

men seeking men:

BM, 59, 5'8 170 ( not bad) good looking ( by who's standards?) HIV+ ok. He's honest but who the hell wants to date an HIV positive person except another HIV + person.

But you have to give him points for honesty. There are people going around infecting others without disclosing the fact they have aids, so good for him, but I'd be scared.

LETS TALK SWM, 58, likes great food, reading, theatre, dancing, galleries, ( straight?)
seeking SF 57-72 I hate to tell him, but once he reaches the 72 bracket, he'll be dating someone close to his mother's age. maybe he just needs a good spanking.

It's entertainment! Comment if you dare! Have a great Tuesday!

Texas hold-up?

Per the Washington Post, in mid November it seems that Ppl just love poker. A man sent out several evites to poker players to his home to play " Texas hold-um". He may have said black tie, but what he got instead was black ski masks. 2 Crooks crashed his hold-um party and robbed everyone. It seems you just can't go online, invite 50-100 strangers to your home to play poker, and just expect to have fun. What's the world coming to? By the way this happened in Virginia. I wanna know....when's the next poker game? I'll bring my videocamera.

Shop til you drop?

well, it's black Friday. Sheesh. Xmas time again. Don't get me wrong--I love Xmas...it's just that I hate standing in lines, fighting for a parking space, and all the regular things I do now, take forever now that it's " Xmas season". You try to go mail a package at lunch hour now. And then there's Sally, who's shopping, and swears that those sweaters were on sale..And the clerk has to go back to where the sweaters are located and check! I think I might try to do some online shopping this year......I have in the years before....but this time I think it will definately be more fun. Have YOU had a horrible shopping experience lately?

Ok who is going to eat too much?

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. But we all know what it's really about! Eating. You eat so much, then you fall asleep watching football after dinner. But, are you going to help do the dishes? And, thank the people who actually made the food? Or will you sit around, and gorge yourself on pumpkin pie? You say, " let's take a walk, so I can walk off this food." honey, you'd have to walk 20 miles to walk off all you just ate. And tomorrow, you'll wobble around the mall, unable to eat hardly anything at all. lol Seriously, have a wonderful Thanksgiving, and don't worry when your pants don't fit after dinner. It's only a few days out of the year most of us stuff ourselves. Happy Thanksgiving!

Way to go Jenn!

Today I went to see the movie, " Derailed". It's a fabulous movie, I highly recommend it. It will surprise you, trust me. It's about an advertising exec who is intrigued by a woman, and a turn of events turn his life upside down. You will be on the edge of your seat. This is, by far, Jennifer Anniston's best movie role yet. Way to go Jenn! My question is: Did they make this movie before or after her breakup?

I need to be around adults more!

I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend. We had a bowling birthday party for my son yesterday. That was pretty nice. I'll blog about that another time............Recently, We went to Medieval Times, a great place to go....fun for the entire family. Except for the Middle School kids. The night i picked to go...wouldn't you know it? A middle school was having their field trip. Oh! the screaming children. I took 4 kids myself, but nothing is as noisy as 4 BUSLOADS of middle school kids. Now my 15 yr old and his 17 yr old friend were a little disappointed to hear, " And we'd like to welcome _______ Middle School. That means the girls were 12 and13. Bummer. lol.......... But, after a night like that, I need some peace. This is a holiday week, so I will only be working 2 days, plus my little part time gig, which I'm departing for in a few........I love children, i really do.......I have 3 boys...but sometimes too much is just too much and I'm glad they made aspirin!!!!!

The nicest smelling 1st grader

This morning, when my 2 sons were getting ready for school, my youngest son came out of his bedroom and I smelled " Axe". My older son had just gotten out of the shower, and hadn't dressed yet. He told me, " Dylan is going to smell nice." Sure, he'll be the nicest smelling 1st grader at his school. I told my son, " It's best to wait until you have some kind of body odor...." lol. I swear he overdid it. I'm very sensitive to smell, so I can always tell when my older son is going somewhere he wants to impress people. Axe isnt' only for 18-25 yr old men, the younger boys like it too! I can remember not too long ago when my older son actually pulled my younger' sons pants down, showing his underwear. I immediately pulled them back up, and my son said, " He looks like a geek." Little does he know, I used to dress him in pants that fit, and tuck his shirt in 8 years ago. I can't stand this baggy pants-showing-your-underwear look. !

Teens/Guns

This will probably be a boring post, but a much needed one. There was a story in the Washington Post about a 17 yr old girl who was carelessly shot by another teen, while " hanging out" during the summertime. First of all, my first question is: Where did the teen get the gun? He said he didn't realize it was loaded. The Gun should have never been placed where he had access to it. I get so angry at these parents that are at work, while their children are at home doing god's knows what--and they can't even put away their guns! The boy only got 1 1/2 yrs in jail, and probably didn't spend all that time in jail anyway. He was charged with reckless endangerment. ? I say attempted murder. not intentional of course, but you should never point a gun at anyone. The poor girl was coming out of the bathroom, and he pointed a gun at her. she joking said, " you shouldn't play with guns", and he made a joking sound, pulled the trigger, and a shot rang out. I feel this young man should 1. never be able to own a gun 2. should have spent more time in prison to let him reflect on his poor judgement. The girl almost died. I feel the parents should also be held responsible. I do own a gun. It is put away. Even if our sons found the gun, the bullets are not with the gun, and in 15 years, neither of our sons has gotten it out to our knowledge. Parents need to be held responsible. This boy was/is a child. Saying" I didn't think it was loaded" is ridiculous. If the parents were put in jail for the offenses, then they'd wake up. Bottom line: Parents, watch your kids, childproof your home. Even when " Johnny is driving, and 17, he's still a child, so don't leave things around carelessly." What do YOU think?

What would YOU do?

I was reading an article in the Washington Post, written by a reporter, " Maria". It seems Maria was turning 42, and her b/f was 52. She was pregnant, and found out from her Doctor that the baby had downs syndrome. She opted to abort. I tried to think about what I would do....if I were in her shoes, and i really don't know. I had my last child at 34, and was glad I stopped at that age. With her being 41, her doctor told her realistically, there is approx. a 40 in 1 chance the baby could have downs, despite some doctors say 100 to 1. What would YOU do? i realize it's a hot topic...........but........I really wouldn't know what to do. I'm pro choice, but I'd have to give it some thought.

Make my own coffee?

I may as well make my own coffee. This morning at 7-11 I had to fight my way to make my husband's 2 cups of coffee. First, there were about 8 mexicans crowding around the coffee pots. Now, i'm not a racist.......If there were 8 white ppl i would have said that! or 8 blacks, 8 asians, whatever. The coffee pot area was disgusting! I asked one man if he was through with the pot, and he looked at me like I was from Mars. Then i tried sign language, and he finally said, " yes, i'm done". There was no regular creamer in the container in front of me, so I had to go down a little farther on the counter, I said " excuse me" and got a few dirty looks as I took my creamers that I needed. Am I the only one that experiences problems at our local convenience stores? I feel like I'm being herded around sometimes...........oh well. I home now, hungry and there's nothing for lunch. Dare I go out again? lol...........

What do YOU think of Terrell Owens T.O.?

Personally, I say........if you play on a football team and are being paid millions of dollars a year, be a team player. Don't criticize your quarterback or your team. Be positive. I agree with the suspension and shame on him. Terrell? Get yourself in check baby. what do YOU think?

What will happen when my trash piles up?

Yes, i'm on a rant again. This Friday is Veterans day, and there is no trash pick-up. Do you have any idea how much trash I'll have in a week? I have 3 boys and a dog, and we generate 3 trashcans full of trash each pick-up. I'll be piling it up against my house. Oh! and today is Horrible neighbor day! Today's story is about my neighbor having to fix his wife's car. YES, the white one that sat with no tags for about 3 weeks. He was fixing it Sunday, and borrowed tools from my husband. and YES he brought them back. But he told me........ " yeah, i had to fix my wife's car, and it's cutting into my " drinking time". Can you imagine if that's on someone's to do list?
Here's his: 1. get up 2. get wife to fix me breakfast 3. putter around what little yard I have 4. be nosy ;watch neighbors 5. watch tv and <> 6. drinking. What is YOUR horrible neighbor story?

Why ruin Halloween?

back in the late 70's Halloween was fun. yes, times have changed. But dammit, let's let our kids have fun. The owner of a local party store told me that in 2004, he had employees dress in the " scream" costume. the black robe, and mask with the white scary face......... At my sons Elementary school there were about 20 " scream" costumes parading around. Anyway, the police came into the party store, and told the owner the Employee had to come in. Same thing with Freddie Krueger. I say...let the kids have their fun. As long as it's harmless fun, why not? Why ruin Halloween? and btw.......if everyone's values were that of the 1960's.... ( minus the bias against women) we'd all be better off. And if Judges, parole boards KEPT prisoners in jail, esp. Violent offenders.....our streets would be safer. And don't give me that bullshit about not enough money.............Please. After what our state spends all everything else!! i say.... take a nice rural state like Montana......and build a huge prison with gates that are 50 feet high...i'm sure it can be done......and send all the violent offenders to Montana. What do YOU think about Halloween and trick or treat?

Just who's responsiblity is it?

I have a friend. We'll call her " Carol". a few years ago "Carol" started feeding stray cats. Now, she feeds 3 feral colonies, nearby her apartment. " Carol" is really starting to be eccentric, and strange. She spends like 50.00 a week on food ( which , right now, she can afford to) and she goes to feed the colonies every day. We all know it's important to spay and neuter your animals, but let's face it.......all we can do it tell ppl. This, I've noticed, is starting to take over Carol's life. If she hears of any strays, she gets upset, and asks what's being done. She has a dog to take care of. She's single. I have 3 boys and a dog. I really don't have time to feed strays. I'll say a prayer for them. Carol told me today that it's the " communities" responsiblity to feed these cats. I've got news for her, my children are far more important than any cat. I may buy a few cans of catfood, and feed the cats down the block, but nature has allowed for them to eat. There are mice, and other small rodents for them to eat. I can't spend a lot of time on this.....but who's responsiblity is IT to feed and care for all these strays?

How CHEAP R U?

This is one of those little stories i tell. My husband is a contractor/plumber. One of our friends, told another friend about my husband. It seems her friend, i'll call him " Alec " was remodeling his bathroom, and doing much of it himself. He couldn't get the old shower pan out. He tried and tried, and even had my friend's husband try. He even got several of his " buddies" to try. No luck. So , my husband went over, and after an hour and a half, got the old shower pan out by breaking it up.....and plus having a lot of experience removing old fixtures, shower pans, etc. My husband told him he'd call him to let him know how much he owed him. Well, my husband called and said, " 75.00". The guy nearly flipped. I suppose the fact this man is jewish means nothing. No offense Jewish ppl. Anyway, he refused to pay. After a few days, and researching this with his " buddies" he said " 40.00" would have been enough. My husband was insulted. He told him to keep his 40.00 if he was that broke. To this day, we still have to see " Alec" around our city because our children are the same age. ( we both have 15 yr olds). Isn't it wonderful to be cheap? The proper way to have done it would have been for Alec to tell my husband he'd have to pay him in installments. There is no gratitude with some ppl. Has anyone ever stiffed YOU? Have a great Sunday! Go Redskins!

One day Mold will get you-----

to the paranoid in our society.........why worry about Mold? If it's toxic, get it cleaned up.......or use some Mold & Mildew remover. With so many things to worry about.....global warming, terrorist attacks, crime, home invasions, are you going to let a little mold stop you? The news media love to hype things up........watch your parakeet! We have the " bird flu". I say that moviemakers get busy and have a movie-star couple come home one day, and find toxic mold oozing out of their jacuzzi. " Ok, Sally--time to move back into our winter home in Utah". What else are they going to scare us with? careful when you're in your shower...forget about Norman Bates! the toxic mold is coming for you. What are YOU afraid of?

Scary!

Last night on Trading spouses..........Channel 5 i believe at 9 p.m. there was a religious nut as one of the Mom's. She's from Louisiana, and is a bible thumper. I do'nt think i've met anyone so over the top. Not to mention the fact she weighs as much as a baby Elephant. Who cares if someone reads Tarot cards, does hypnosis, or is a psychic. Unless you are a devil worshipper or satanist.....i really wouldn't worry. At least until you get to know that person. Did anyone else recognize the fact she treated her younger daughter like Cinderella. yeah, she's the queen alright..........the Queen of Lard.

I missed horrible Neighbor day!

dammit. although it' doesn't seem like anyone's reading the blog.......but Billy bob was out in full prance this morning. I'm getting ready to take my son to school, my husband is putting materials for work on his truck, and there is Billy Bob. Standing up on his porch grinning, waiting to pounce and bombard my husband with questions. Just as you thought it was safe to go out to your driveway---- My poor neighbor around the corner drives by slowly, and Billy bob spots him! Now, he's going to chat w/ him for at least 15 minutes on how he's angry that my neighbor down the street reported him for having a bronco w/ no tags parked on the street. 1st of all , Billy Bob didn't need to buy a vehicle that was broken down, 2nd Billy Bob is a renter, and that is not even technically his yard that the broken down, no tagged truck is parked in. Instead of fixing it--Billy Bob now wants to build a " pen", surround the truck with stockade fence. God! What a redneck. What is YOUR horrible neighbor story?
